First impressions matter, and while it’s true that you can’t judge a book by its cover, you can often glean quite a bit about someone within the first few minutes of meeting them.

Obviously, you should stop short of making snap judgments or pigeonholing people. However, it’s still important to pay attention to some of the more subtle cues and patterns that reveal aspects of their personality.

Pay attention to how they talk about themselves. Do they ramble on about their accomplishments, or do they share anecdotes that reveal their flaws and vulnerabilities?
