But the truth is, life isn’t a race, and your journey is never as “behind” as it might seem. If you’re struggling with this feeling, these things can help change your perspective and remind you that you’re exactly where you need to be.

1. Social media is a highlights reel, not real life.

Scrolling through social media can make it feel like everyone else is ahead in life. Engagements, new jobs, house purchases, travel adventures — people only post the best parts of their lives. What you don’t see are the struggles, setbacks, and moments of doubt they face behind the scenes.

Comparing your entire reality to someone else’s curated moments isn’t fair. Everyone has challenges, even if they don’t share them online. Taking a step back from social media can help you stop measuring yourself against an unrealistic standard.

There’s no official deadline for success. Some people get their dream job at 22, while others find their true calling at 50. Some marry young, while others meet their person later in life. Your path isn’t meant to look exactly like someone else’s.
