What to Do When You Feel Like No One Cares About You

Even when people are around, it can seem like you’re invisible, or like nothing you say or do really lands. That feeling can twist reality, convincing you that you’re completely on your own.

The truth is, everyone goes through moments like this, even people who seem surrounded by love and support. However, just because it feels true doesn’t mean it is. There are ways to reconnect, to pull yourself back from that isolated space, and to start seeing care where you thought there was none. It begins with small, honest steps that remind you that you still matter.

1. Validate your own feelings.

Stop waiting for someone else to come along and tell you it’s okay to feel hurt, lonely, or abandoned. You’re allowed to feel those things, and you don’t need anyone’s permission or approval. Yes, it’s scary to be vulnerable, but giving people a chance to be there for you is essential. If you isolate yourself, you deny your loved ones opportunities to support you.
